Mr. Ervin Wacnik presented the idea of building multifunction cable TV network in Ceska Trebova short after the November revolution, in 1990. The construction was started already in 1990 and the next year it was possible to watch the satellite channels in the most populated housing estates in the town. Sure it was one of the first cable TV transmissions in Czechoslovakia. The things didn't go on so easy then, but the network was built all over the town during nearly 9 last years. From the very beginning the cable TV network was intended not only as a medium for satellite TV and radio channels - as early as in 1991 the MTS (Town TV Channel) started to be broadcast.

OIK inside... (January 2000)

Most the load of work lay on a few group of local TV fans - amateurs that have been producing the broadcasting in their leisure time. When the cable TV network was built also in the neighbor town Usti nad Orlici, both nets were linked and also the broadcasting joined. OIK (Orlicky info channel) replaced the MTS. Until 1996 also teletext was started.

In May 1999 the Cable TV Company started testing the data services. The technolgy of the Izreali NetGame company was chosen. In December 1999 the company demostrated and presented the services to public. In January 2000 first connections were established, the very first was the plug in Habrmanova Street Elementary School.

The future is going to bring other services: phone services (after dismounting the telephone monopoly of Cesky Telecom a.s.), house security systems or "Video on demand".

Till the end of the year 2000 many connections have been already established. Connection to Internet via Cable TV became another commonplace. (November 2000)
